Once upon a time, there was a girl who became a blacksmith. And as blacksmiths sometimes do, they get burned. So in her forge back in Canada, she began crafting a magic balm to soothe the heat from the irons. 

Then one day, while walking in a field of stars, she discovered it also could soothe the heat from the sun along with many other practical uses. So she adapted it for a different adventure and started making more. 

In time and as fate would have it, she followed her stars to Galicia, where she met others following their own stars. She thought they could also benefit from this practical magic. So she made more.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
