Small Groups, Big Adventures

Unforgettable journeys crafted for women on the Caminos less travelled.

Welcome to Wild Galicia Adventures

This is what we do...

  • At Wild Galicia Adventures, we believe in the power of the female spirit and shared experiences. Therefore we understand that capable and independent women sometimes prefer the company of kindred souls on their outdoor adventures. Whether you are a seasoned hiker or stepping onto the trail for the first time, our female-centric Caminos embrace the spirit of exploration, connection and embracing the joy of adventure in Wild Galicia.
  • We view Caminos not just as paths through nature; but opportunities to connect, inspire, and celebrate the strength of the wild woman within.

How we do it...

  • Our carefully crafted tours are designed with the unique needs and interests of women in mind, recognizing that even those who can hike alone may not always want to.
  • We specialize in taking the Camino less traveled, because wild women and nature like it that way.
  • Groups are small, with a max of 8 and some just 6. Why? For a couple reasons. To minimize our impact on sensitive ecosystems, to reduce the impact on accommodations on the roads less traveled and to authentically experience all the great things the journey has to offer.
  • We support female based business. Whenever possible we use providers that own, support and/or foster growth within the female camino community.
  • The environment matters, so, whenever possible, we stay in accommodations that practice sustainable tourism. While walking, if we pack it in, we pack it out and sometimes pick up more along the way.  Every little bit helps. Leave no Trace. Want to know more?
  • We’ll be carrying our stuff. We pack light so there’s less clutter weighing us down mentally and physically. Plus, most of the routes and places we travel don’t offer luggage transfer anyway. So you won’t have to worry about losing your luggage.
  • While our scheduled tours are exclusively for women, we also offer bespoke Camino adventures tailored for small groups, regardless of gender. Contact us to create a personalized experience that suits your preferences and aspirations.

The Environment...

At Wild Galicia Adventures, we recognize that we are guests in this beautiful, magical, awe-inspiring place called Galicia. With unwavering respect for the natural world, we’ve adopted minimal environmental impact and sustainability practices into the core of our operations. We believe in leaving behind no more than footprints. We educate our clients on the Leave No Trace principles of ethical hiking, waste reduction, and safeguarding fragile ecosystems. We also do our best to support local businesses with good environmental practices as well.

Your guide Andrea, is not just walking you through a landscape. She is a storyteller, sharing insights into local flora, fauna, history, myths and legends along the way. She is a student of the ancient cultural heritage and feels it is an honour to nurture a profound sense of place and connection to this landscape. As a steward of these awe-inspiring environments, Wild Galicia Adventures pledges to ensure that our presence enhances the natural wonders we’re privileged to explore as we strive to preserve and protect these wild places for the generations to come.  Want to know more about Andrea?

Testimonials

Andrea was cool and calm at all times. She was organized, professional and knowledgeable about all things Spanish. We could either walk on our own or with the group and she was good at checking in with the group to see where everyone was and how they were going. She was also very good with helping me choose gluten free foods, as a Coeliac. I really enjoyed her company while walking. I would love to do another Camino walk with Andrea and would highly recommend her.

I had an excellent experience walking a Camino under the professional guidance of Andrea. I was one of eight participants in this walking group that journeyed together along the historic Portuguese Camino beginning in Oia, Spain and ending up in Santiago de Compostela. Andrea was well prepared and organised. She attended to individual needs while keeping us motivated and connected as a group. She provided interesting facts and stories about what we were seeing. She was energetic and always respectful to everyone. I always felt we were in good hands under Andrea’s guidance and highly recommend her as a walking tour guide.

'We walked 150km of the Portuguese Camino from Oia to Santiago, along the Coastal route. Andrea talked to each of us through the day, getting to know us. She was patient even at the end of a long day and checked in frequently with slower walkers and made stops at cafes and restaurants along the route based on the weather and our needs that day. We had many fun meals together while having the flexibility to do our own thing. I have full confidence in Andrea. She can lead a Camino for you or your group with the built in flexibility that is needed and activities you want.
